After I print my manuscript for editing, I bring out my tub of Crayola markers then highlight, strike through, and underline based on Ann Whitford Paul's guide in Writing Picture Books. Hands-on interaction with the plot and characters (away from digital distractions) helps me see what’s working vs not.
